PUT TO THE TEST Wednesday - August 11, 2010
“In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness” – Titus 2:7
Danielle Steel is an American romantic novelist. Since 1973, she has written 78 novels and a variety of children’s books. She has sold more than 580 million copies of her books worldwide and her novels have appeared on the New York Times bestseller list for over 390 consecutive weeks.
Each book is meticulously researched and takes on the average 2½ years to complete. She releases 2-3 books a year, so at any one time she is working on five projects. With a family and her work, Ms. Steel has hired several servants to keep her life in full gear.
One day, one of Danielle Steel 's servants found a beautiful diamond necklace that the author had apparently left in the laundry. She returned it - and later discovered that she had passed the 'integrity test' which Steel set up for each of her employees; like a character from one of her books, Steel would hide a necklace or bracelet somewhere to see whether or not it was returned.
Each day, our integrity is put to the test. Today in prayer, ask the Lord to give you wisdom and strength to have Christ’s integrity in all that you do.
“Be such as a man, and live such a life, that if every man were such as you, and every life like yours, this earth would be God's Paradise.” - Phillips Brooks
God’s Word: “The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.” – Proverbs 10:9
