Energy Converter

Energy Converter

To this end I labor, struggling with all His energy, which so powerfully works in me.
Colossians 1:29 (NIV)

Colossians 1:9-13
If you've ever plugged a hair dryer into a socket in another country, you know the risks. Many people have burned up their appliances. It's not such a big deal if it's a razor; but a laptop computer is another matter. Some nations use 220 volts; others 110. Most of us get confused about DC and AC, and we're wary of plugging our electronics into strange-looking sockets and hoping for the best. That's why seasoned travelers take power converters with them. With the right adapters, we can safely use our appliances wherever we are.

As God's "living appliances," we need a converter to make us useful. We have a job to do in this world, and we've been designed for specific service for Him. But until we connect with His divine power, we're useless. Jesus Himself is the Converter. His sacrifice and redemptive grace give us life, energy, and usefulness. His power flows through us; and when we work for Him we're laboring with all His energy, which so powerfully works in us.

There is sanctifying power like a sweet, refreshing shower, waiting for each consecrated heart.
Leila N. Morris, hymnist
