“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” – Hebrews 1:14
Arthur Blessitt is an American evangelist best known for carrying a 12-foot cross to every country of the world. The closest he came to being killed was in Nicaragua in 1978 where a civil war was raging between rebels and government troops.
A group of uniformed men ordered Arthur from his tent at gunpoint. He recalls: "They stood me beside a truck and ordered me not to move.
"They lined up about 15ft away, raised their guns and pointed them toward me. Suddenly I realized I was standing before a firing squad."
Arthur wanted to make sure that his last moments were serving the Lord. He ignored their orders and went to grab a box of Bibles to give to them. When he turned back toward the men, he noticed that the six men were lying on the ground stunned.
Arthur offered them Bibles, but they dashed to their truck and drove off.
Later, local villagers came to Arthur’s tent and fell on their knees. “We saw a bright light,” they said. “God was here.” Arthur believes a guardian angel saved his life.
Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve us and protect us. Today in prayer, praise the Lord that He has sent His angels to protect us.
