IMITATING OTHERS Thursday - July 1, 2010

“You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.” – 1 Thessalonians 1:6

In September 2008, William Hall from California won an impersonator contest on German television. He imitated singer Michael Jackson.
The contest aired over 12 episodes and featured the best national and international imitators of famous stars such as Elvis, ABBA, Tina Turner, and Michael Jackson. The contestants competed for the crown of becoming the king of tribute acts worldwide and winning more than $25,000. The viewers voted the winner.
William became interested in music at the age of three. He learned to play the keyboard, bass and drums. He studied art, business and music composition and production in college.
It isn’t just German television viewers who appreciate Hall’s imitation of Jackson. He has done some touring to enthusiastic crowds in the United States.

As Christians, we are to look to Jesus Christ and imitate the Lord and mature Christians so we can grow in our faith. Today in prayer, praise the Lord for the example mature Christians have shown you and seek to be more like Jesus Christ in all that you do.

“Imitate Christ, who is supremely perfect and supremely holy, and you will never ere.” – John of the Cross

God’s Word: “Therefore I urge you to imitate me.” – 1 Corinthians 4:16
