REMEMBERING TO DO GOOD Thursday – June 24, 2010

“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” – Deuteronomy 4:9

Idina Menzel is an American actress, singer and songwriter. She is best known for her role of Elphaba in the musical “Wicked”.
In 2003, Idina starred in the original Broadway cast of “Wicked.” The following year, she won the a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.
Idina left the show in 2005, but reprised her role in 2006 in the London production.
One of the signature songs of the show is called “For Good.” It was a song Idina had sung more than 1000 times during those performances.
But in July 2008, Idina was singing it before an audience in Nashville, Tennessee when her mind went blank. Three times she needed the audience prompt her in remembering the words. Finally, Idina had to rely on her audience to finish “For Good.”

The Lord desires us to remember His words, to take them to heart, and do everything for good. Today in prayer, thank the Lord for His Word and seek to remember and apply all of His Word for good.
