THE GOOD, ETERNAL KING

THE GOOD, ETERNAL KING                 Tuesday - October 5, 2010

“You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.” – Hebrews 2:7-8

Alexandrina Victoria was born on May 24, 1819. She was the only child of Edward, Duke of Kent and Victoria Maria Louisa of Saxe-Coburg. In 1830, on the death of King George IV, his brother William IV became king. William had no surviving legitimate children and so Victoria, became his heir.
At the tender age of eleven, Victoria was shown by her governess a list of the kings and queens of England - with her own name added after George IV and William IV. Having burst into tears at the awesome revelation, she quickly regained her composure and solemnly declared: "I will be good."
Victoria became queen at age 18 and she ruled Great Britain for 64 years. Her reign lasted longer than that of any other British monarch, and Victoria is the longest reigning female monarch in history.

Jesus Christ is the Good King. He eternally reigns over all. Today in prayer, praise Jesus that He is good and He is eternal and He is Lord of all.

God’s Word: “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!” – Philippians 2:6-8
