NEVER TOO OLD TO BEGIN TEACHING

NEVER TOO OLD TO BEGIN TEACHING                  Thursday - October 14, 2010

“In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!” – Hebrews 5:12

In 2002, Lorraine Yudiskas decided to go to college. When she was younger, education was not a priority. She married, had children and became a widow who needed to support her son and daughter. She went to work and had a career in government.
In May 2010, Lorraine graduated cum laude from Marywood University with an English degree. The 79-year-old Lorraine became the school's oldest graduate.
"It has been an incredible, incredible journey," she said. "I always knew this is where I'd go if I had the opportunity." Lorraine plans to be a volunteer reading tutor helping others learn. She is also looking at returning to school and pursuing her Masters Degree.
"To be 79 and to be able to do well in college reduces me to tears," she said. "I think this is the plan God made for me."

The Lord desires us not only to follow Him, but also to teach others. Are you teaching others how to grow deeper with Christ? Today in prayer, thank the Lord that we are never too old to begin teaching others about the love of Jesus Christ.

“I touch the future. I teach.” – Christina McAuliffe

God’s Word: “Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God” – Hebrews 6:1
