The King Eternal

The King Eternal

And He has...a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:16

There aren't many kings left anymore. Monarchies--a form of government in which power resides with an individual until death, then passes to the heir--saw steep declines in the last century. Much of the world was ruled by royalty in 1900. Today only forty-four nations have monarchs, sixteen of which are commonwealth realms recognizing Queen Elizabeth as their head of state.

Citizens in a monarchy have a better understanding of the word "sovereign" than those who don't, but few live in a realm where the monarch possesses absolute sovereignty. An absolute sovereign has unlimited right to control everything and everyone within his or her territory. In politics, this creates reigns of terror. In the divine realm, it gives unlimited peace when we accept the absolute sovereignty of Jesus Christ. He is the King of the Jews (Matthew 2:2), the King of Israel (John 1:49), the King of righteousness (Hebrews 7:2), the King of peace (Hebrews 7:2), the King of the saints (Revelation 15:3), the King eternal (1 Timothy 1:17), and the King of kings (Revelation 19:16).

Let His absolute reign comfort you today.

My choice is King Jesus; He's reigning above, His service is gladness, His banner is love.
