STRIVE TO BE BLAMELESS Wednesday - August 4, 2010

“An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.” – Titus 1:6

Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter during the twentieth century. He is best known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for the wide variety of styles embodied in his work. His artistic accomplishments brought him universal renown and immense fortune throughout his life, making him one of the best-known figures in twentieth century art. One of his best-known works is “Guernica” that he painted in 1937. It is his portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.
One day during World War II, the German Gestapo came to Picasso’s apartment in Nazi-occupied Paris. One of his unwelcome visitors, having noticed a picture of Guernica on a table, asked, "Did you do that?"
"No," Picasso replied. "You did."

In all we do, we should seek to be blameless. Today in prayer, thank the Lord that when we follow Him, we can be blameless.

“When we quarrel, how we wish we had been blameless.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

God’s Word: “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless.” – Genesis 17:1
