AVOID SEXUAL IMMORALITY Wednesday – July 14, 2010
“It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality” – 1 Thessalonians 4:3
John Edwards was a former U.S. Senator from North Carolina when he ran as the Democratic nominee for Vice President in 2004. Four years later, Edwards ran for the presidential nomination and was defeated by Barak Obama.
In October 2007, The National Enquirer magazine began a series of reports alleging an adulterous affair between Edwards and former campaign worker Rielle Hunter.
By July 2008, several news media outlets speculated that Edwards' chances for the Vice Presidency as well as other positions such as the Attorney General were harmed by the allegations.
In August 8, 2008, Edwards admitted the affair with Hunter in 2006, but denied being the father of her child.
In January 2010, Edwards admitted that he is the father of Hunter's daughter. "It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter, and, hopefully, one day, when she understands, she will forgive me," his statement said.
Sexual immorality ruins lives and is sin. Today in prayer, thank the Lord for His warning on sexual immorality, confess any sin of sexual immorality in your life and pray that you will not fall into any temptation.
