LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOR Tuesday – June 13, 2010

“May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 3:12

In 2008, singers Brandon Heath and Jason Ingram wanted to do something for the Nashville, Tennessee community. They started an annual benefit concert called “Love Your Neighbor.” The two musicians partnered with Fellowship Bible Church for the annual event.
During 2008, the Love Your Neighbor concert raised $21,000 for tornado victims in the Clarksville, Tennessee.
During 2009, the concert benefited a young man named David who required critical surgery to stop the loss of his eyesight. More than $13,000 was raised.
In May 2010, the concert raised more than $60,000 in donations with proceeds going toward local flood relief.
"More than a benefit, it felt like a big family piled into the living room to share songs, stories, and all that we have," said Brandon Heath of the 2010 concert. “I'm immensely grateful for the generosity of Nashville, and those watching online. Above all, God was glorified and our neighbors were loved.”

We need to bring the love of Christ to the world. Often that begins in our own hometown. Today in prayer, praise the Lord that you can share the good news of the Gospel with those who He has placed in your life.
